Since September 2007 a group of community representatives, faculty, and library staff at SDSU have been developing a Chicana/o Archive Project.    The purpose is to preserve the priceless records of the struggles of  the struggle for civil rights, and an end to second class citizenship, and educational underachievement.   The library staff along with a committee  have worked together to build an important archive collection, one that will benefit present and future students and community members who want to tell the story of how Chicanas and Chicanos have struggled to improve their lives here in the border region.
